We simply take a 15% commission off the final sale value.

Small Print

• You get a formal agreement from us.
• We pass on any costs to you that we incur. This may be the 2% charged to us by the credit card people or any TLC that had to be done by a third party
• For basses selling for less than £1000 we charge 20% commission sale

Most of our Commission sales yield at least a net of what you would have likely realised if you had sold privately for a number of reasons, as listed below.

Marketing

• We take photographs that are of a decent standard compared to many amateur ads.
• We advertise your bass on our website which gets thousands of visits a month as well as other sites (e.g. Vintageandrare.com)
• We promote your bass listing through our newsletter, Twitter and Facebook reaching thousands of bass players
• We do not charge for marketing, despite the costs we absorb ourselves
• Of course, you save on advertising your bass too (OK, maybe not on a free online forum, but then take a look at what typical sales values are reached in such places!)
• We have clients on the lookout for certain basses and we alert them if one comes in
• We display your bass prominently in our showroom where visitors are regularly known to fall in love with a bass in the store by picking it up and playing …often when they didn’t come in to buy one!

NB: Half our Pre-Owned basses get purchased from overseas. This helps with some brands that are not currently in demand in the UK yet are still sought after elsewhere

Logistics

• We can close a sale when a buyer doesn’t have the cash by taking credit cards or even taking in some of their own gear in part exchange
• Your bass is in a safe, stable environment and is fully insured
• If your bass needs some TLC we can take care of set-ups, string changes etc.
• We take care of issuing receipts, packaging, insuring and posting a sold bass
