So here we have a lovely older Fodera 5 string.

This is an original series Anthony Jackson Signature model with a double cutaway, twin pickups and active electronics.

It was born in May 2005 and has a ‘classic’ combination of walnut body with a beautiful dark ebony top and a maple neck with an ebony fingerboard and headstock – plus a particularly pretty butterfly inlay.

It has a pair of Seymour Duncan dual coil pickups which allow for lots of tonal variation. Also has a ramp fitted in between the pickups.

With the combination of walnut and ebony it’s towards the heavier end of the scale but those lovely tonewoods work so well together and deliver an outstanding sustain and core tone.

In fact it’s hard to describe just how many tonal options this bass offers. However, we do know that it has been used live, and on many recordings, for a wide variety of music, from progressive jazzy rock through classic modern pop and some hard rocking metal!

Definitely a player’s bass and not something to hang on the wall. Needs to be played to be really appreciated.
Condition

Body front: usual playing marks around neck pickup on the veneer in the form of hazing. Small ding 3mm on lower horn.

Body sides: very good but wear marks in one place above the bridge.

Body rear: Three significant dings.

Neck: Excellent condition, no marks found.

Head: Excellent condition, no marks found.
